Description

After Grendel departs, Barry Palumbo savors how his true plan has come together, the way he has expertly played wolf against the devil and how he will kill them both and rid himself of them forever.

Another lucky acquisition that pleased several of my OCA wants. I wanted art by Phil Hester? Check. I wanted something featuring Grendel? Check. I wanted my first ever complete story? Check.

This is page 7 of an 8-page story that appeared in GRENDEL: RED, WHITE & BLACK issue #2 back in 2002. Each of the four issues included five 8page stories, all written by Grendel creator Mat Wagner. Red White & Black was the third 4book series.

The story is a simple story of double-crossing betrayal, but told with flair and a twist that Grendel deserves. The story features great pictures of Argent the wolf, Grendel, Stacey, and Hunter Rose.

Beautiful how Grendel are the shadows and the shadows are Grendel connecting everything on the page.
