image area 7 x 4.5". Roy G Krenkel was commissioned to do both the cover painting, and the [five] interior illustrations for the DAW books 1976 paperback edition of the fourth book in Lin Carter's Green Star quintology, 'As The Green Star Rises' (he is only credited for the cover in the paperback itself). HOWEVER, he employed Michael Wm. Kaluta - RGK being a lasting influence/inspiration on MWK's work - to ink four of his five interior illustrations. Those plates bear no signatures. .......................ON the fifth piece, "The ship ascended to the rocky roof above" (the one posted here) although it is signed RGK/MWK, IT IS ACTUALLY done by Kaluta alone, but signed by both as it was technically Roy's commission. As Michael put it when I queried him directly: "I love this one!!! Yes, this is entirely my own work. I signed Roy�s initials because it was the best art I did for the book, and a dream come true having my initials and Roy�s on the same drawing."
