DescriptionMan… this covers been haunting me for over a year… it first popped up on a caf show with Mike Burkey. At the time he didn’t know if it was published or where .. I know it was real familiar but I couldn’t place it during the show.. but a giant Darrow bulldog had my attention! I made a very fair offer in the moment for something we didn’t know if it was published… but the burkster turned me down.. which was unfortunate since I admire Darrow a lot and had been looking for an example.. and of course I love Bulldogs and Lockjaw is the marvel Bulldog… fast forward to a few months ago.. and I’m at Anthony’s warehouse and there it is again! But with a hefty number on it.. and still no clue if it’s published. So I enlisted the Professor and BOOM he found it … the B cover from the Marvel Knights Inhuman series issue 2 .. I felt so dumb then.. I really liked that series and this was the cover I picked back then… again because of the big dog! Ant and I Tried to make a deal on it trade/cash … but we couldn’t come together. Fast forward again to NJ art Con .. and Anthony made me a deal I couldn’t refuse!! And she’s home now!Fantastic Darrow example.. Great Lockjaw.. the Inhumans kids in the background were all first appearances if you are into that and the bulldog image was even reused for a second cover.. lockjaw Dog days 1! Social/Sharing |

This was worth the journey! Some things don't sell with some dealers and sell with others. Darrow gets every fold and evey wrinkle in!

Finally! Glad this greaat Lockjaw cover by Darrow found it's home in your collection (and not another claim sale! lol). It having been used as a cover for two seperate books makes it even sweeter. congrats!

Darrow perfectly captures the scale of Lockjaw here and Iove the pose, but it's the Romitaman journey that makes this one shine. Great to see this one come back around.

Fun fact you will appreciate- a former owner of the cover and friend of Geof's told me Geof had a bulldog at the time and used him as a model for the cover. And reffered to this as "the dog cover"
