DescriptionThis is the complete five page "Rock n’ Roll is Here to See" story drawn by Stan Goldberg with inks by Rudy Lapick. This story was published several times over the years in:- August 1984 - Archie's TV Laugh-Out # 96 - December 2002 - Archie's Pals 'n' Gals Double Digest Magazine #70 - May 2008 - Archie's big book. Vol. 3, Rock 'n' roll - March 2013 - World of Archie (Jumbo Comics) Double Digest #25 In this story Reggie is obsessed with watching himself on NTV (aka MTV) and is focused on convincing the band to make more music videos. MTV launched in August 1981 and in June 1984 (one month before this story was published) MTV blossomed into MTV Networks. It’s cool to think about The Archie’s keeping up with the times by doing a story about the importance of music videos right when MTV was cementing its place in pop culture. Thanks to Patrick Reed for making these possible. Social/Sharing |

Congrats on this really fun story that was used in so many places. Also great that you have it all collected together and with a list of all its various places of publication. Great piece of Archie history.

One of the best years of music was 1984 fueled by music videos! Prince, Springsteen, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Wham!, Duran Duran, Lionel Richie, Van Halen, Tina Turner, Phil Collins, Kenny Loggins, Boy George, Stevie Wonder, etc. stacked the Top 40. Casey Kasem gave out long distance dedications with the Archies!

I think it could easily be argued that 1984 was the best year for music in that decade. It was awesome!

this is so much fun dude!!! I love it. Any Archie stuff featuring "The Archies" I find super entertaining and I'm glad you do as well (why wouldn't you!?). Stan Goldberg also in my opinion needs a little more love among all the big names from the Archie art/creator stable. This is great cheap/affordable and fun art. Happy to see it in your gallery!
