DescriptionReached out to J.K. Woodward after I got curious one day if he still had pages from The 49th Key. That was a Heavy Metal project that John Barrowman had tried to turn into a TV show at one point several years ago. Woodward is a great talent, and is a master at capturing likenesses. From his work on Star Trek and Doctor Who, I've been a fan. Those Doctor Who pages were snatched up long ago but a John Barrowman page from a really wild Heavy Metal story scratches that itch. Adjacently at least. This one is a real showstopper. The colors are so vibrant and really pop. The oranges at the volcano just don't translate that well in a scan. This one is a real work of art even outside of its comic book origins. Social/Sharing |

The likenesses are always on point by Woodward. I guess with television series, you can get very familiar with the faces and pick up on more of the nuances in their performances.
