A prime page from the book with the Spidey and Punisher battle! An enduring character that taps into the darker side as the 70's had brought with it the end of innocence.

Fan-freaking-tastic! What a great page from a seminal issue of Amazing Spider-Man! Ross Andru doesn't get nearly enough attention when people talk about the best Spider-Man artists. His run on ASM was phenomenal! He was a worthy successor to a great line of artists including Ditko and Romita. This is a wonderful page with several great panels. Certainly the money shot is that final panel with Spider-Man taking out Punisher with one Spidey-powered punch! Fantastic pick-up, serious congrats!

Epic Ross Andru Spidey Vs. Punisher page! This one has it all: Spidey and Punisher in just about every panel, great Ross Andru action and all in a page from Punisher's 1st appearance! You look up Holy Grail of Comic Art on Google and there's a picture of this page! Congrats on this legendary addition to your collection!

First, amazing piece, thanks so much for sharing. I really thought Giacoia did a great job inking Ross on these earlier issues of Andru's run. The Punisher's facial expression in panel two really depict a man in turmoil. I love finding little nuggets on these art boys. It appears Spidey had an additional bit of dialogue in that fourth panel, as indicated by the blue penciled oval and the number nine. Wonder what it originally was intended to read?

Oh, looks like the letterer just repositioned that ninth bit of dialogue.

Man, killing it with first appearances that are truly meaningful! Fantastic page from another comic that had a major impact on the direction of the medium and the types of characters it features. And also, just a great page of explosive comic art! Ross Andru is underrated--love his storytelling and choreography on this page. Great stuff!
