Description

An absolutely amazing piece of original comic book art and video game history. This art was created for an interactive 8 page X-Men comic in 1993 for Sega's electronic comic book line, which was going to be implemented into a mid-1990s device Sega never released. The Sega Electronic Comic line was helmed by Pete McDonnell, with comic book veteran Luke McDonnell providing the pencils and inks for this page. McDonnell created an amazing set of images on this page - particularly the middle panel featuring the 1990s X-Men team rushing into action.

The Sega Electronic Comic would have allowed the reader to interact with the story itself and alter its plot events, similar to a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book. No doubt the decision to add Sabretooth to the X-Men team would have been one of these options. The abandoned project was featured in the April 1995 issue of Popular Mechanics, with the blurb from the issue shown above.

The original art is approximately 11.5 inches by 14 inches, with the pencils and inks by Luke McDonnell on the board. There is a slight bend in the art about 3 inches from the top of the art, but it is pretty difficult to see.
