Description

Red Skull trades one red, white, and blue superhero for another! Spotted snooping, Spidey stuns -- seeking to sleuth out Red Skull's connection to Peter Parker's parents. At this point in the issue, Peter mistakenly assumes his parents were willing pawns in Red Skull's spy network, still unaware they were actually double agents working against the Nazi scourge! This impressive splash features a humorous "off-duty" Red Skull, replete with smoking jacket and ascot, alongside an "on-duty" Spider-Man, complete with his signature "Spider-Sense" lines and original costume with underarm webbing. Overall, a simply superb Silver Age splash page that showcases two Marvel icons in striking contrast! John Romita provided layout assistance for this page, credited in the issue as the "Chaotic Consultant". This page from "The Parents of Peter Parker!" is rendered in ink over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15", matted to 16" x 20".
