DescriptionFrom the conclusion of TIL DEATH DO US PART (X-Men Gold #30) come this page . . . and the music starts.Marquez’s art really captures the scene so beautifully. You can feel the quiet energy in the room as the wedding anthem from the string quartet starts to swell. The crowd whispers “Oh my, she looks . . . Beautiful”, as Kitty (Kate Pryde/Shadowcat) begins to enter the scene. Piotr (Rasputin/Colossus) looks on awestruck. It’s truly cinematic to set up an event so many years in the making. This was something I was really waiting for and made complete sense. It didn’t need the X-tra drama that comes with these soap-opera X titles but that’s not what we got. This is the 4th page I’ve posted from the monumental wedding issue and I go into my deep dark feelings about it on one of those other pages already, so I will hold from that experience here. Technically at this point we are all still awaiting on bated breath for the 2nd major X-Men Wedding of the century (as this was only just a few years, 2018, after Northstar and Kyle Jinadu’s wedding in 2012, since the biggest X Wedding between Scott and Jean was in the previous century, 1994). The last panel of Piotr is worth every cent paid for this page, it’s absolutely handsome and catches a great honest expression of awe for this stoic character. Absolutely love the great feelings before the calamity that soon follows. Some of the fun recognizable characters that I can initially call out as wedding guests are, from left to right: Guido (Strong Guy), Chamber, Lockheed, Moonstar, Stevie, Puff (Lockheed’s girlfriend dragon), Magik, Rabbi Yarkin, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Beast, Jubilee, Kid Omega, Bling, Gambit, and maybe Psylocke. Great to add another page of this beautiful and somewhat sad issue to my collection. More to come! Social/Sharing |

Scheduling a wedding issue for #30 seems to be the move back in the 90's and now for 2018.

A beautiful page in more ways than one and I love seeing the aisle in panel 2 with a cavalcade of X-guests awaiting Kitty's walk to the altar. congrats on a 4th page from the issue.
