DescriptionMarvel Comics Presents # 8 page 7"Save the Tiger" part 8 Art by John Buscema / Klaus Janson Marvel - August 1988 This is a big nostalgic get for me. Before Wolverine volume two hit shelves with the Claremont/Buscema team, The two creators along with Klaus Janson gave us the multi-issue "Save the Tiger" story in the newly launched Marvel Comics Presents series in May, 1988. The first issue introduced Logan hiding out in a new location, Madripoor, with a new, Indiana Jones-esque look. Issue 8 was released between Wolverine (vol 2) issues 1 and 2 and gave us an 8 page story with Wolverine in his new black suit storming Roche's mansion and creating a distraction for Jessan/Tiger to sneak in. I loved the storytelling here. Buscema and Janson delivered some incredible pacing and building of anticipation from the first panel to the last panel. Fantastic page, George! Congrats. John gives the figures so much great movement and body language - it's really fun to look at.

I thought the Buscema/Janson pairing got off to a rough start in the X-Men: Heroes for Hire book but they really complemented each other well by this point.

Janson's inks gets the grit and grime of this commando styled story! Very strong late 80's movie street level action antihero stuff where buff physiques were brought over from Buscema's barbarian works.

Sweet Buscema and Janson MCP page and very early on in his work on Wolvie as you pointed out! I really like the Jessan/Tiger panels (panel 5 is excellent!). Congrats, great addition for you!
