Description

This is the original art for Alex Raymond's Rip Kirby daily dated 1-18-1955. This comes from the "The Eyes of Kismet Kildare" story arc. In the story, Kismet Kelly tries to subtly seduce Rip in a twisted effort to make Rip fall in love with her, then dumps him, all as revenge for sending her father to prison years ago. This was before she learned that her family friend "Uncle Twink" was behind her father's capture... and realized she was in love with Rip... but the damage was done.

After Honey Dorian and Pagan Lee, Kismet was my favorite "Kirby-girl"; maybe even more than Honey. I loved the fashion and her hairstyle. I'd really like to get some other strips from this arc.

The piece is rendered in brush and ink over graphite with an image area of ~5.5 x 20" on a larger 6.5 x 22" piece of Bristol board. \Signed and dated in panel 3.
