DescriptionAs I was saying about the London Film and Comic Convention that took place in July before I was interrupted by a few topical eventsAfter I had met the comic creator that I had gone to London specifically to see, had a few words with him, arranged to purchase and then received back a convention sketch, and taken a photo of him I was on a bit of a dazed high; dumbstruck, I was not my usual voluble and inquisitive self when I approached Adi Granov at his table for a convention drawing. I have to admit that my peak Iron Man comics-reading era was when David Michelinie/JR jnr/Bob Layton were working on the character back in the late 1970s, and although I am a bit out of it as far as recent Iron Man comics go I do recognise that Adi Granov has very much defined the look of the 21st century Iron Man with his covers, interiors, and concept art for the movies so it seemed like the obvious choice for me to ask for an Iron Man. I did ask him if he was tired of being asked to draw ol Shell-head and he said he was not, and it is not yet so mechanical for him to do a bust shot without first putting down a pencil outline, as well as taking longer than the paid-for 5 minutes to execute the drawing. As I had neither an original Adi Granov or depiction of Iron Man in my OA collection it was a pleasure to check two boxes with one tick. Thank you, Adi. Social/Sharing |

You came to the right convention as Adi Granov's Iron Man design is the one used for the films.

What puts me off the Iron Man movies is that RDJ said that his characterisation was partly inspired by Elon Musk. I think this was a factor in my being unmoved by the conclusion of Endgame – I must be in the minority about that.

You'd have to see it in the context of that time period and not today.

Thank you for your simple and hopefully effective mind hack which I had not thought of before and which I will put into practice when I have a strong desire to see any MCU film featuring Iron Man.
