DescriptionIn 1974 I bought my first comic book off the spinner rack. It was a copy of Avengers #132 and I got It because of the Frankenstein monster (one of the Legion of the Unliving) who was prominently battling Thor on the cover. I remember being confused by all of the characters in the Avengers and what each of their powers was. I also didn’t quite get the idea of limbo and how they found themselves trapped there. It would take me several years to track down a copy of this issue in a back issue bin to get the first part of the story. Needless to say I was hooked and became a loyal Avengers fan from the moment I picked up my first issue.Social/Sharing |

Great introduction! They failed as solo acts, but together might just have enough to put away the Avengers by firepower alone.

Staton added lots of depth and nuance to Sal's precise Pencils. Great example!

Fantastic! Lovely half (plus) spash. Staton's inks on Sal B were fantastic, on Hulk and the Avengers. Great page!

I think they were testing the love for Wonder Man - this preceeds his return to life by almost two years - great page and great memories!

I love an origin story and I love this page (and especially this art team). Thanks for sharing your history with us! Oh that magic time picking up a first issue of the Avengers (mine was 115)!
