DescriptionThis is a biggie for me. Lee Bermejo is IMHO a transcendent talent and this piece to me is a masterpiece. He perfectly captures a defeated and mourning Cap who believes he has just lost Bucky for good. (Of course that’s not actually the case). Bermejo’s work holds up under close scrutiny, this is almost a photograph yet more than one. The textures and lighting effects he achieves here are mind-blowing to me. The fabric! It looks like you could touch the page and it would give you the same sensation as the real thing. The small “chain-mail” portions of his shirt are painstakingly rendered and jump off the page as he highlights them by leaving portions of the page untouched by ink. The subtle rain/wet effects he achieves by streaming it off his face and clothes is just stunning. Simply put: the man is a genius.Social/Sharing |

You can feel the weight of defeat wearing on Cap. The dark skies show the turmoil swirling in Rogers' mind as he tries to overcome a world that is less than the ideal.

Very nicely rendered, and a great angle. Cap looks worn out, but still stoic and resolute.
