DescriptionNightwing is my favourite DC character and his original costume is his best because of it evokes his early years as a trapeze artist and serves as a tribute to his parents. I was so happy to get one of my favourite Pencillers Tom Grummett to do this half-body sketch in Fredericton, New Brunswick given that Tom was one of the artists who worked with George Perez on the New Titans series. Tom was very gracious in the time he spent on the sketch and in the discussions he had with me. However, when I asked him to do the original costume rather than the second version that he designed, he jokingly called it the disco costume and continued the joke by threatening to draw a disco ball in the background. I explained that I wanted it to be an hommage to his collaboration with Perez and gave him a copy of New Titans 65 for reference, and he obligingly stuck to the classic version of the character, and I could not be happier with the final product. Grummett does this in a soft pencil simplified style to highlight the costume design and Nightwings' handsomeness!
