12x17" DC Comics artboard has pen and ink original art for cover to Hawkman Vol. 3, #27, published by DC Dec. 1995. Art is by Ron Lim w/inks by Terry Austin and was part of the 1995 "Underworld Unleashed" crossover event, which saw Hawkman battling the various "Hawk Champions" (past lives) contained within himself. Cover shows this in gruesome detail, w/faces and hands of the various Hawk Champions emerging from Hawkman's body. These include - Silent Knight, Nighthawk and another Hawkman wearing Hawkman's familar (yet slightly different from that issue's) helmet. Lim and Austin have signed at bottom right. Artboard has acetate overlay attached at top w/tape. This has printed, back-painted title, "Underworld Unleashed" story title and publishing indicia. This and margins of artboard have printer registration tape, those on artboard having aged. Top margin has black felt tip pen names of Hawkman editor Jim Spivey as well as Lim and Austin's names, inked title, issue number and date of publication. Top margin also bears "Underworld!" notice in black marker. Back has DC copyright inkstamp as well as handwritten credits in green/black felt tip pen. Artboard has some corner tip wear but art remains clean and Exc.
