Description

An extraordinary and truly rare preliminary page by Simone Bianchi, created for Star Wars #7 (Marvel Comics). This stunning pencil and ink wash composition represents the preliminary layout for spalsh page 3, depicting Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine, surrounded by townspeople and the unmistakable atmosphere of the desert planet. The final version of this page, along with all other finished originals from the volume, resides in George Lucas� private collection, making this one of the only opportunities to own an original piece from this celebrated project. In fact, only three preliminaries exist, and this is widely regarded as the most impressive and evocative of the set. Executed in pencil and ink wash on official Marvel art board, the piece perfectly captures Bianchi�s cinematic approach and painterly sense of light and shadow. The solemn expression of Kenobi, his weathered cloak, convey the isolation, wisdom, and quiet strength of the Jedi Master in exile.
