Description

Action page from the historic first issue of the Marvel Team Up series.
Written by Roy Thomas, drawn by Ross Andru, and inked by Mike Esposito way back in 1971.
To quote my buddy Matt "Bronze age Gold!!!!"

Lucky to have both heroes, and the villain, in action on the same page.

As a child, I read/collected the anthology series comics (Marvel Team Up and Brave & the Bold).
I liked how each issue was a self contained story....no cliff hangers!!

Another example of how our art can be time machines for our nostalgia.

Congrats to Paul for claiming my other Marvel Team up page from my recent Dueling Dealers show.

It was a natural with no better first team up than with Johnny. They've been pals since the start and both have faced off against Sandman in their own titles. Andru and Esposito were big mainstays on ASM and made this title a smooth launch!

Johnny and Peter teaming up was a natural way to start the series, that cover is so memorable as well, awesome addition! A fantastic and historic page from MTU #1, congrats Jordan!
