El Dorado The Gilded Man is one of Carl Barks' most celebrated oil paintings, completed in 1974 as part of his effort to bring his classic Duck stories into the gallery world. This image recalls the 1952 comic story "Donald Duck and The Gilded Man" from Four Color #422 (Dell, 1952), where Donald and his nephews stumble into the legendary city of El Dorado and discover its gleaming guardian. The giant golden figure towers over the ducks, symbolizing both the danger and allure of treasure hunting. In Excellent condition.Social/Sharing |
