DescriptionFrank Frazetta at the top of his game! The famed master of fantasy art created some of his best, most famous - and most desirable - peak-period cover paintings for the 1970s editions of Edgar Rice Burroughs classics, and this is an absolutely premium example with all the elements a collector could ask for. The dynamic body positions, the lovely female figure, and the rich, moody atmosphere make that abundantly clear. An absolute masterpiece by the undisputed master. Notes on the back indicate this was purchased on 9-2-1974 - and this painting has been residing in the Lowery Collection for decades, so it's appearance at auction is a very big deal, indeed. Created edge-to-edge in oil on 16" x 20" canvas wrapped board. Signed in the top right corner.Social/Sharing |
