Description“Earth is on the brink of disaster. A superior foe is almost at its door. With zero hour at hand, Machine Man must be convinced to use his -- QUICK TRICK”A front row seat with TranScoptic Lenses™, what better way to watch the Autocron Empire’s intergalactic armada warp in at the edge of our solar system (or a quick peek at Jocasta’s oil bath!)? Their coldly calculated conquest and invasion of utter domination to impose the Metal Brotherhood’s technocracy upon the inferior flesh-wearer’s of unsuspecting Earth! Well… except, we have Machine Man! Absolutely loved picking up Machine Man off the rack back in the day, and I couldn’t be happier adding the bug-eyed opener to Machine Man #6. I love Jack’s splashes of this era with the inviting lead to the story, followed by the giant graphic title stingers, never done better than the graphic grandiose of Mighty Mike Royer! At the edge of conception lies Jack Kirby’s Ten-For the Mean Machine, at the brink of forever Machine Man rises up to meet that challenge, and at the Age of Disclosure they’re both coming for you! I don't think anyone understood the impact and importance of a title splash more than Kirby. Gorgeous example from this dynamic art duo.

Great title page! The shocked expression on the face just behind Machine Man really adds to this, bringing some human awe to Kirby's imagined advent of intelligent androids.

No point trying to be clever if you're gonna misquote the page. 🥸

Jack Kirby was born to draw Machine Man, or was it Machine man was created for Jack Kirby to draw? Yes and Yes I say! This is pure Kirby magic - love it. Congrats!!!

Only Kirby could add machinery to a pair of googles. Great splash!
