DescriptionI wanted to kick off the year with a piece that checks a lot of boxes for me. As a big fan of Jim Cheung and character designs, this is one of coolest combos culminating in the creation of Jim's final Wiccan (aka Asgardian) character designs for the Young Avengers! This design was drawn on a Crossgen board, which was the publisher Jim worked with in the early 2000's through 2003. Jim drew these character designs in 2004 leading into the release of the debut Young Avengers issue in 2005. Jim drew multiple design sheets to get the the final designs, which you can see some of the other design ideas in the additional images section. These character designs have been used a couple times: • Published in the Young Avengers TPB (issues 1-6) • Published in the Young Guns '04 Sketchbook • Promoted online Big thank you to Michael Lovitz for showing me this piece at the 2025 OAX and for making it available on Dueling Dealers on December 17, 2025. Most importantly, it's got the date on it and can lay claim to a piece of the first appearance pie!

Another -beautiful- Cheung for your awesome collection, George! Jim really leverages the lessons he picked up from his fantastic Scion run to present some really cool designs for Wiccan / "Asgardian" here. What a great pick up! Jim obviously invested so much time and detail into this fully-rendered design drawing... It's not at all surprising, as it is so plain to see how invested he was in this series at every step (which is an enormous reason it still resonates so vividly)! Knowing your penchant for both character design pieces and the mighty Mr. Cheung, this is a perfect fit and a rocking way to start out 2026 - huge congrats, George!
