Gorgeous publicity drawing (pencil & colored pencils) for the 1938 Mickey Mouse short �The Whalers�, featuring Donald Duck, by the wonderful Manuel Gonzales (one of the most proliferate Disney artists from 1936-1981, first working in the Animation department as an inbetweener, then in the publicity department until he took over the Mickey Mouse Sunday strip in late 1938 until his retirement in 1981).
From the collection/estate of Manuel Gonzales (1913-1993).

Not once does Donald get out of his barrel to resemble this scene, but this sure evokes the seafaring adventure and spirit of the animated short.
