Description

Holbein Gouache on 15x22 Strathmore illustration board.

Geoff Johns saw some of my Geiger sketch covers at a convention and asked if I wanted to do covers for him. Only an idiot would say no, so of course I said no. Just kidding, I dropped an F Bomb in my enthusiasm to accept. Originally, I was commissioned to do several pen and ink covers for Hyde Street and Redcoat. I asked if I could do a Geiger cover since I was a fan of the book, but they said all the covers had been assigned to other artists by that point, and they had no open slots. I finished my Redcoat and Hyde Street covers and included this painting I did just as fan art in the email. The editor replied and said they wanted the Geiger also, and they would find someplace for it eventually. "Eventually" came about 18 months later.

Now I just need to wrap up all my current projects so I can try to do some more covers for Ghost Machine. Their books are amazing!
