Description

In 1972, I was taking a class in Science Fiction literature in college. Like many young men of that time, I had read a great deal of ER Burroughs, and John Carter was a favorite of mine. So, imagine walking into the pharmacy and going to the comics rack and seeing a copy of DC's Weird Worlds. Then I found a copy of Korak with Kaluta's adaptation of Pirates of Venus. I was a happy camper.

As luck had it, I was watching when the previous owner put this page up for sale. It had everything... John Carter, Dejah Thoris, Tars Tarkas, and other Tharks... not to mention a speeder.

Plus, it was by Murphy Anderson. Perfect!

An underrated classic adapting this story for the 70's during the sword and sorcery craze! Anderson goes back to a time before the rise of the silver age superheroes when fantasy adventure was prestige and ruled the day.
