Description

This Godwin painting, done for a 1943 Texaco ad, is a truly amazing watercolor and one of the gems of my personal collection. His work echoes many of the greats -- Pyle , Wyeth , Parrish , Gibson , and he was an old studio mate of James Montgomery Flagg. A great pen man, Godwin's work on Connie and Rusty Riley is some of the finest strip art of its period.

This is an absolutely brilliant piece! I'm seldom envious of pieces in the CAF, but this has me drooling!
