Description

My very first convention sketch-in 1984 Shelton Drum of Heroes brought Steve Bissette and John Totleben to a small con in Hickory, N.C. I had recently re-discovered Swamp Thing and these artists were my idols. Steve Bissette told me that they were charging $10 for sketches, but for $15 they would do something really nice. I said, "I'll stick with 10." Bissette drew Swamp Thing and Totleben drew Abby. I love this sketch, but I often regret not kicking in the extra $5.
