Description

Chris Sprouse brought a stack of original art with him to the Fan Appreciation show. Some pages were more gory or had more action but I chose the 8 that were most beautiful to me. I could look at these all day. I've always loved Chris' clean lines as seen in the printed book but having the originals is a totally different experience. Everything just looks perfect and the pages themselves are in great condition with inks in deep, deep black by Karl Story. Yeah... Oops, sorry about that! The first issue of the "Ex Machina Special" introduced Pherson, the Great Machine's nemesis. He was a sound technician who was trying to figure out how to replicate the power of the Great Machine's voice (this page). When his pet parakeet repeated a recorded phrase (duplicating nuances the recording gear could not) he violently gained the ability to hear and speak to animals.
