THIS WAS ONE OF MY BIGGEST COMIC PURCHASE MISTAKES. THIS WAS ON EBAY AS AN ORIGINAL COVER. I BID IT UP TO $177, BUT WAS OUTBID THE DAY BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDED. I STOPPED WATCHING THE AUCTION AND FORGOT ABOUT IT. A WEEK LATER I GET A "SECOND CHANCE OFFER" FROM THE SELLER. THEY SAID THE WINNING BIDDER BACKED OUT OF THE DEAL. I WAS GLAD (AT FIRST) TO GET THE PIECE. WHEN IT ARRIVED AND I REALLY HAD THE CHANCE TO EXAMINE IT, TURNED OUT TO BE A STAT WITH SOME MINOR CHANGES. I TRIED TO CONTACT THE SELLER, BUT THEY WERE NO LONGER ON EBAY. I WENT BACK TO THE CLOSED AUCTION AND RE READ THE DESCRIPTION AND SAW THAT, JUST PRIOR TO CLOSING, THE SELLER ADDED THAT THIS WAS A PHOTO STAT. MY FAULT FOR NOT DOUBLE CHECKING BEFORE ACCEPTING THE "SECOND CHANCE" OFFER.

That happened to me on an interior page I bought where only a quarter of the page was the actual drawing.

$177 for a production copy of a published cover by Byrne doesn't sound like a deal so bad. If you want, I might purchase it at that price.
