DescriptionBryan Lee O'Malley is a Canadian cartoonist and was a Special Guest at San Diego Comic-Con in 2009. I've read and enjoyed the first five volumes of his Scott Pilgrim series and his first graphic novel Lost at Sea, all available from Oni Press. This drawing is Raleigh, the protagonist of the latter book. She's a Canadian teen who goes on a road trip to the US with three classmates. At one point in the story, she speaks of her father, divorced from her mother, who now lives in a suburb of San Francisco called Fremont. This is where I live and work. So I had to ask Bryan why Fremont. He says he was living in neighboring Milpitas and visited friends in Fremont a few times. Bryan now lives with his wife cartoonist Hope Larson in North Carolina.Social/Sharing |
