Description

Suicide Squad was one of DC's best series of the late 80s/early 90s. Here's a page (a splash in more ways than one...) featuring one of the team's top members.

This initial splash page from Suicide Squad #11 published in 1988 by DC Comics features supermodel Mari McCabe posing seaside for a swimsuit photo shoot. Of course, Mari McCabe is secretly the superheroine Vixen who would become a mainstay of the Suicide Squad—what a way to introduce her to the series!

The page shows a zip-a-tone effects in the cloud bank, some white-out retouching on the figure, white-out effects to enhance the look of the sea spray, and production notes in the margin. The inidica at the bottom of the page is a stat. On the back of the page are some light pencil sketches of the story title “Blood & Snow,” presumably as the artist worked out how the lettering should look.
