DescriptionThis is a nice action page from the Marv Wolfman / Keith Pollard / Joe Sinnott run during which I started reading FF. The stories were compelling and the art was engaging. From both a storytelling and layout perspective, Keith Pollard's work on the book was quite solid and Joe Sinnott's inks gave the book a continuity to its look that stretched back to when Jack Kirby was the resident penciller. As my first Joe Sinnott inked original art and gazing upon the fine fresh brushwork, it is no wonder that many people consider him the greatest inker ever. While I always liked Sinnott's inks, this page has made me much more of a believer. Everything is crisply inked, whether it be a main character, or a little background detail. Joe Sinnott took his work very seriously, and comics (specifically Marvel Comics) were far the better off for it. Social/Sharing |

A great example of an FF page with the entire team featured, plus the Fantasticar! I agree that Joe Sinnot was responsbile for the consistency in the "look" of the book through the Buscema-Perez-Pollard-Byrne runs of the book.

Sinnott is one of the greatest inkers to ever work on a Marvel comic book, perhaps the entire industry and Keith Pollard has such a clean line that together was pure wonder.

Betaray forgot to mention Buckler who like Pollard is very under-rated and yet perfect in their rendition of the Fantastic Four and more generally of the Marvel Universe...Great page my friend ! Sinnott is the best !!!

your point about sinnott is well taken- he bridged the gap from when kirby left to right when byrne took over the book with 232 and the book uniformly looked the same where he polished the look of the pencilled art where it still resembled the penciller's style but gave it the distinct look we fans were used to...... i like a lot of inkers but he truly is the greatest........ and pollard- very underrated. i loved his work on ff and thor. a nice page with the classic look of the team.

However difficult it was for me to give this page up, I can't tell you how pleased I am, seeing it went into the hands of someone who truly appreciates it as much as I did. A fine page that covers all four members beautifully. All that, and the original "classic" Fantasti-car to boot. And I also agree that Joltin' Joe is the greatest. Thanks for sharing greatness and God Bless Always.

Outstanding Fantastic Four page by Kieth Pollard and Joe Sinnott. Pollard doesn't get enough credit but he does a remarkably good job of carrying on in the footsteps of Buscema and Kirby. And Sinnott's strong inks provide a consistency with the past. Terrific page with cool additions like the Fantasticar! Great pick-up!
