DescriptionThis is just a really cool cover that I came across and really like. Derrick has a very cool style that reminds me a bit of Sam Kieth crossed with Art Adams, then mixed with some manga anime influences. Very interesting! The book is a personal project of his that comes out in March 2010, and looks to be worth looking at. You can find more details and info at www.wellkeeper.com or look it up online. I got this piece directly from Derrick.What's cool about this piece is that Derrick usually works digitally for the pencil layouts, but for this he did good old fashioned pencils and inks. For the interiors, he said he "pencils" them roughly in Photoshop and prints those out on boards as bluelines and inks manually by hand. On the back of this cover is a blueline sketch page printout of page 9 of the issue. So it gives a cool glimpse into the process of how this artist works:) As always, I have the published version to see as well:) Social/Sharing |
