Description

The short story "Il Ricordo di Faccia" was the birth of new art and story telling by the artist. Gipi tried to work the first time with oil colours on heavy canvas board to reach good light effects for 6 short story`s, collected in the book "Esterno Notte". For the last 2 short story`s he additionally used different layers of foil to draw faces on them and mount it on the board. "Il Ricordo di Faccia" was inspired by a real story in the youth of the artist. Gipi drew this story right after the attack to the twin towers 9-11. The character "faccia" (grimace) is real and Gipi mixed the reality with some details of adventure and poetry. The upper inked part of the page was mounted on the canvas board. On the lower part Gipi drew himself.
