If you remember one of my complaints from the Heroes Con convention in June, it was that the George Jeanty art I was scoping out was a little pricy for my taste. Well, number 7 in my "cheap comic art" list is this little COVER by George Jeanty from earlier in his career. It is from a 1996 third party (really third party) indepenent comic called Hammer Girl. If you do a seach on the internet, you can find this obscure cover. I found this in Mr. Jeanty's "cheap" box at last year's Dragon Con. This is another "cheap art" collectiing tip that sometimes you can find cheaper art from the beginning of an artists career (usually because it was never marked up over the years). At the time I bough this cover, I did not know what it was, just another splash page I liked. So far in the cheap comic art collection total, the previous 6 pages were purchased (eventually) for a grand total of $25 bucks. I know Jeanty Buffy the Vampire Slayer covers can go for up to four figures these days. The price for this cover...$20.00!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
