Description

This page is from the infamous Spider-man saga "One More Day", in which Spider-man's marriage to Mary Jane Watson was wiped out by Mephisto (aka da' Devil). Still quite the controversy, read as a story, I though it was actually pretty good. Another future controversial item about this page (at least to original comic art collectors) is that it is inked over blueline pencils by Danny Miki, while the pencils for this page were drawn via computer by Joe Quesada. No pencil originals exist. I have seen more and more original comic art where the artist creates the pencil art only, and uses computers to generate the final "inked" pages, but this is the first page I have bought where the process was reversed. With the "Death of the Pencillers", it's only a matter of time until all process for comic art creation are computer generated, and original comic art goes the way of the dodo.

You raise a good point, Jim. Like animation, it seems that computer technology is changing the way comic art is produced. If the day ever comes where comic art is entirely produced digitally, I guess us collectors will be scrambling for commissions. In any case, nice page my friend!!
