Bye, Bye Super Heroic Guy.....
Fought for Truth, Justice, and the American Way All of His Life.....
Then One Sad Day Doomsday escaped and we Cried.....
Do you Remember when a Superman Died.....
I have already display one of my prize pages, Man of Steel #17 page 22 featuring the first appearance of DOOMSDAY, the monster that "killed" Superman waaaaaaay back in November 1992. I remember at the time. I really wasn't following the"Death of Superman" storyline. Then one Wednesday in November, I happend to be in Atlanta on some business.I stopped at one of the local comic shops, which was packed with a line a mile long out in the street. I found out it was people stand standing in line for Superman #75 black bag edition,limit one to a customer. I didn't feel like standing in line, so I went to two other stores in Atlanta. Same results. Finally, I drove back to Chattanooga, and went to my regular comic shop. It was packed as well, but I literally bought the last copy of Superman #75 they had. And that was how I was introduced to the "Death of Superman", often highlighed as the peak (and the end) of the comic book craze in America.
