DescriptionWhen I was young and first being exposed to the world of comics, I was fascinated by the Doom Patrol's Negative Man. For some reason, his powers really struck my imagination as being very cool and different. As I got older and read Grant Morrisson's reimagined version of the team and character in the 90's, the depth he was able to instill in both left no doubt in my mind that I was reading something very special. I loved that book.A big part of the experience of that incredible Doom Patrol run was Richard Case's inimitable artwork. So when I found out that he would be coming to the 2011 Heroes Con, I reached out to him to set up a commission. And who else would I go for but my childhood favorite: Negative Man (now known as Rebis)? I asked Mr. Case to somehow work the Russian matryoshka dolls that the Negative Spirit often likened itself to into the theme of the piece...and he came up with this incredible artwork for me. I hope you like it just as much as I do! Thanks, Mr. Case!!! :D Social/Sharing |
