De toute l’oeuvre de Peyo, les couvertures et planches de Benoît Brisefer sont les plus rares sur le marché. Il n’existerait qu’une seule planche connue de cette série en mains privées ; de couverture aucune. Le scénario de l’album Le Cirque Bodoni est imaginé par Peyo dès 1960, date de la création de la série. Il faudra attendre 10 ans pour qu’il ait le temps de le réaliser, preuve de son désir profond d’adapter et de développer un jour en album cette idée si originale. Cette couverture, réalisée par François Walthéry en étroite collaboration avec Peyo, représente tous les personnages clés de cette histoire : Benoît Brisefer, Mona, Pietro le clown et Monsieur Loyal autrement appelé Monsieur Bodoni. En arrière-plan est esquissé le décor urbain de Vive-Joie-la-Grande.

Of all comic strips illustrated by Peyo, the covers and strips of Benoît Brisefer are the rarest on the market. Only one strip from this series is known to be owned privately, and no covers are owned privately. The storyboard for the album entitled Le Cirque Bodoni (The Bodoni Circus) was created by Peyo as early as 1960, the date on which the series was created. It was necessary to wait a further decade before he would have time to illustrate this, proof of his deep-rooted desire to adapt and develop this truly original idea into album format. This cover, illustrated by François Walthéry in close collaboration with Peyo, represents all of the key characters in the story: Benoît Brisefer, Mona, Pietro the clown and Mr. Loyal, otherwise known as Mr. Bodoni. The background shows a sketch of the urban surroundings of Vive-Joie-la-Grande.
