DescriptionWhile, as a body of work, Mac Raboy had one of the most consistent styles of anyone drawing strips in an illustrative style, he did show changes over his 20 year tenure. I actually thought that his later work was far superior to some of his earlier... especially a period in the mid-1950's. This Sunday shows that. The detail of the first panel and the grandeur of the third panel (which looks like it could have come from 2001 A Space Odyssey) really show Raboy's skill at innovation and drafting. After all, in 1964, there were no shots from a space station to use as reference!Social/Sharing |

Gorgeous, gorgeous brush work. You can't beat the "old" masters.
