DescriptionThis is a bit of a modern GRAIL for me! In my mind Ron Garney is one of a handful of iconic Wolverine artists that have worked on some amazing story-arcs and really made the character their own. For me, this is one of the most iconic Garney covers and will be a memorable Wolvie image for years to come.This piece has been used countless times for covers, posters, magazines, websites, etc, and specifically for the Wolverine: Weapon X #1 cover, which kicked off Jason Aaron's story, "The Adamantium Men". I feel very lucky to own this piece and have to thank Spencer Beck and Ron Garney for making this one possible. I have put some pictures/scans below for reference. Enjoy! I am very excited to say I was able to get this art signed by writer, Jason Aaron at Heroes Con 2013! This piece was used for some amazing things like: - Wolverine: Weapon X # 1 cover - Wolverine: Weapon X # 1 German/European cover - Lobenzo 100% Marvel Spanish cover - Comic Heroes Magazine # 14 cover (Oct 2012) - Marvel Previews # 66 Cover/interior (Feb-March 2009) - Wolverine: Weapon X "Adamantium Men" Hardcover/TPB - Wolverine 300 - cover recap page with other covers - Wizard Magazine # 211's 'Weapon X-Cellent' art - Wizard Magazine # 220's Jason Aaron 'best writer' art - Wolverine Saga (2009 preview issue) Back Cover - Posters and Adverts - Official 11 by 17 inch print - Ron Garney's convention backdrop - Dynamic Forces also used this piece for a run of 1999 exclusive Virgin Art Edition from Marvel Comics. From the 1999 copies, I believe they did a run of 25 signed and numbered copies by Stan Lee and John Romita Sr and 75 signed and numbered by Romita Sr and 999 signed and numbered by Ron Garney! Dynamic Forces also did an excluse Negative Art Edition cover as well. This piece was also used for the Dynamic Forces back cover as well. Social/Sharing |

Ron Garney's a stud. I put him up as one of my top 3 favorite Wolverine artists with Frank Miller and Jim Lee.

When first looking at this piece George, I wondered whether this was a published piece or not? I then proceeded to scroll down and see the 20 zillion items this art has been used on (LOL)

Wow! Wow! Wow! What an epic drawing of Wolverine. Ron Garney really nailed his character in this cover to Wolverine: Weapon X #1. I love the pose, with the three claws of Wolvie right in your face like you're being warned. And I love Logan's facial expression--His sheer ferocity and savage anger is jaw-dropping! Great pick-up!
