Description

A few years back I was fortunate enough to be at a convention for artists and illustrators that was attended by Moebius (Jean Giraud). I brought my copy of Silver Surfer: Parable with me. He was always surrounded by people so I very quietly worked my way over to his table and waited with my book in hand until he noticed me standing there. He reached out for the book and I asked him to autograph it for me, -which he did. But he also started drawing something. Finally he showed everyone what he drew and said "It's me! On a surf board!" Which got a big laugh. He was very nice!

A very great moment. Not meeting Moebius will probably be the biggest regret in my comic art collecting career. I have met most of the other artists I want to meet that were alive during my collecting days but Moebius was the biggest and the one I most admired and sadly one I never got shake hands with and tell him how much I enjoyed and admired his work.
