Description

Tenzing Norgay was born to a very humble Tibetan couple while they were on a pilgrimage to a monastery in the Himalayas. Towering in the background was Chomolungma, or Everest, the tallest mountain in the world. The mountain was to cast a spell on the little child and give direction to his life. For as he grew up in its shadow, Tenzing often looked up and wondered if he would be ever able to climb to the top. His obsession with the mountain took him to Darjeeling and then on through many adventures and expeditions till he met the man with whom Everest could become a reality – Edmund Hillary.

--The publisher Amar Chitra Katha traces the story of one, who after having stood on the summit of Everest, could only feel humility and gratitude to the great mountain.----
