Description

Picked up this lot which is about half of the prints produced by the Emil Verban society - a secret Washington society of Chicago cubs fans - membership is by invitation only and has ranged from Ronald Reagan to Hilary Clinton ! and a whole load of Washington insiders and Lobbyists whose world view has been deeply shaped by growing up backing the losing cubs! I bid on this lot only to discover they were prints instead of originals / Being from the sout' side though I lived for years 2 miles from Cubs park the prints hold less interest for me in spite of the fact they were produced on a limited scale a few hundred for the biannual banquets held by the society.
By the way Emil Verban was a competent ball player who liike many ended his otherwise successful major League career playing for the cubs, On the positive side if he never played for the cubs he would not have a society sort of the equivalent of the illuminati of the baseball world named after him and thus would have been lost to history.
So there is some benefit playing for the cubs after all!,
These are up as a public service so other art fans will know there are prints
