Description

Snow White first appeared in theatres around Christmas of 1937, it was decided to create a sequence of 20 Sunday pages which would run above the Mickey Mouse Sundays in early 1938. Those 20 pages told the complete Snow White story, from beginning to end. Of the 20 pages drawn for this sequence, only two are known to exist -- and this is one of the two. It is an especially strong page, in that it shows the Witch with the poison apple, the Prince, and all seven of the Dwarfs dancing with Snow White as they partied the night before the Witch appeared, and Snow White praying for the dwarfs in the last panel. Hank Porter was Disney's best comic strip artist, and was used only for a few special projects like this. The piece has an overall size of 27" x 17.5".
