Colan, Gene
HOMMAGE !!!!!! Gene Colan, né dans le Bronx à New York le 1er septembre 1926 et mort le 24 juin 2011, est un dessinateur de l'Âge d'or des comics. Les travaux de Gene chez Marvel inclurent Menace, Mystic , Strange Tales, Tales to Astonish, Journey into Mystery, avant de se diriger chez DC pendant un moment pour Sea Devils et Hopalong Cassidy. De retour chez Marvel dans les années 1960, Gene travailla sur Silver Surfer, Iron Man, Sub-Mariner, Captain America et Doctor Strange. Sa longue contribution sur Tomb of Dracula Blade avec Marv Wolfman. Mais avec Daredevil ils furent particulièrement remarquables, ainsi que sa collaboration incroyable avec Steve Gerber sur Howard the Duck. Dans les années 80, Gene effectua encore plus de travail chez "DC" - sur Night Force (de nouveau avec Marv Wolfman), ainsi que sur la remarquable série Nathaniel Dusk. C'est sur cette série que Gene a utilisé pour la première fois le genre révélateur, consistant à passer les couleurs directement au-dessus des crayons (sans aucun encrage). Dans la lignée de ses travaux précédents, il dessina un arc de Batman (Batman 350-351 & Detective Comics 517) mettant en scène la vampirisation du défenseur de gotham, sous la plume de Gerry Conway.Récemment, Gene revint rapidement sur Daredevil et sur la mini-série Curse of Dracula (avec Wolfman) chez Dark Horse. Il travailla aussi sur le comics accompagnant le film Aliens vs. Predator. Il participe au projet de Don McGregor un graphic novel Detectives Inc. chez Eclipse Comics de 1980 à 1985 avec Marshall Rogers.
