Marvel Value Stamp Project - Individual
The Marvel Value Stamp Project is inspired by my love for '70s Marvel comics. In the mid-'70s Marvel started including small pictures on the letters pages called Marvel Value Stamps. The initial run was 100 different characters, in various book, spread out over the next several years. The wonderful people at Marvel encouraged their young readers to cut out these stamps and save them in a "stamp book" (which they were more than happy to sell to you). The most infamous of these stamps #54-Shanna The She Devil that was included in Hulk #181. The art was taken from various published sources by many of Marvel's top artists -- Romita, Kirby, Buscema, Severin, etc. My concept is to recreate these with the help of some of today's best artists. This is my tribute. Each Sketch is 2.5" x 2.5".
