Jim Woodring 'Sprank' preliminary drawings

Hello again! Some of you may remember my selling a number of choice Halo Jones pages here a couple of years ago. Well no Halo for sale this time, but, raising money again for another project, I am offering a four-page Jim Woodring preliminary for his Frank story, 'Sprank', which appeared in Fantagraphics Frank Number Two back in December 1997. Each page has been signed by Jim at lower right. Here's a little history. I first got in touch with Jim in 2003 to commission a large watercolour. This set me off on a whole series of purchases over a few years, predominantly from the man himself. In 2006 he asked if I would mind loaning a number of pieces to show at the FIBD (Festival International de la Bande Dessinée) at Angoulême in France. Sure enough I was soon contacted by Jean-Pierre Mercier, Conseiller scientifique at the Centre National de la Bande Dessinee et de l'Image. So I ended up loaning several watercolours and these prep drawings which I had bought from a third party. Anyway, you will see one page of the paperwork after the photographs. So, nice provenance :) Any questions, or more photos, just ask! The drawings were mounted and framed by the folks at FIBD and that is how they are presented to you now. The glass, mounts (mats for you folks in the US) and backing board are sealed around the edges, so sorry about the reflections, I'm not opening them up to take pics. They are for sale complete, four pages in two frames. Frames are 54 cm x 73 cm and mounts are cut to 40 cm x 26 cm (the pages are 48 x 32). Any shipping will be additional and dependent on the destination. Collection in person from my address here in the UK is encouraged, but no problem to ship anywhere, packing will be bomb-proof Cheers!
