Theme HAYAO MIYAZAKI Castle in the Sky
Hayao Miyazaki is a great writer and director of animated films and a comic artist too. I first noticed his work in the VIZ English language printing of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. I rented a Japanese laser disc of Nausicaa just to see the visuals. I was on my way to discovering all his movies and find them some of the best ever made. Miyazaki frequently features young heroines of strong character. From a family of aircraft producers, he creates wonderful flying machines in almost all his movies. I've found a few Studio Ghibli cels and drawings, but prefer meeting artists and buying directly so I combine these two by seeking out artists to do drawings of Miyazaki characters.
