Batman and Joker Commissions in progress
This is the most recent commission from a CAF collector who does have a gallery here under the name Aric Shapiro. As with 99% of my art and especially with Batman and Joker art, " I do NOT use reference" and work straight from my imagination attempting to depict a scene that I have never scene before this way it has less of that " photo studio model shot look". The reason I enjoy this piece so much is that I have been given creative freedom when doing this commissions. I have the freedom to capture the uncommon pose or angle and not be influenced by other images. This one was challenging as I had never actually scene a person dangling off the building held by his lapels, ha ha ha .... let alone be floating in the air as the viewers perspective dictates here. I also do not "sketch or create thumbnails" I find that creating a line only preliminary gives me a better base to start the shading and painting process. I will be using a mixed media technique on this piece in B/W. Check back in a day or so and I will have the next stage in the art posted.
